Powder & Ombré Brows Before & After
Discover brow transformations by Mariia, from subtle shading through sparse areas to a more defined shape and softly graduated colour.
Freshly treated brows can appear darker and more defined than the settled result. Healed results are the best guide to the softer finish you can expect.
Every brow is individual. Your starting shape, skin, chosen pigment and healing will influence the final result.
What Are Powder Brows?
Powder brows are a permanent makeup treatment that uses a machine to place tiny dots of pigment into the skin. This builds a shaded finish, similar to softly applied brow powder, rather than individual hair strokes.
Also known as a powder brow tattoo or semi-permanent eyebrows, the treatment can give sparse brows more definition and bring balance to their appearance. The colour gradually fades, although some pigment may remain in the skin long term.
Powder Brows vs Ombré Brows: What Is the Difference?
The names are often used together because both looks use machine shading. The difference is in how the colour is distributed across the brow.
Powder brows create a softly filled-in effect throughout the brow. The shading can be kept light or built up for a more noticeable makeup finish.
Ombré brows use a gradual transition: lighter at the front, with more depth towards the arch and tail. This gives definition while keeping the start of the brow soft.
You do not need to arrive knowing exactly which style to choose. Bring a photo of how you usually wear your brows, and we can discuss the finish that feels most like you.
How Your Brow Treatment Works
Consultation
We talk through your brow routine, preferred finish, relevant health information and any previous permanent makeup. This helps us assess suitability and plan your treatment.
Brow mapping & colour
Your brows are mapped to suit your features, and we choose a complementary pigment shade. You can review the proposed shape before treatment begins.
Gentle layers of shading
Pigment is built up in small layers to create your chosen powder or ombré effect. The aim is a balanced finish with the level of definition we have agreed.
Top-up
Your initial top-up is usually planned for 4–6 weeks later, subject to healing. We review the settled colour and refine any areas that need further pigment.
Powder & Ombré Brows: Your Questions Answered
Will my brows look natural?
Your shape and colour are planned around your features and preferred look. A soft finish is possible; permanent brows do not have to look heavy. Remember that fresh pigment looks stronger than the healed result.
How long do powder and ombré brows last?
They fade gradually, and the timing varies with skin, pigment, lifestyle and aftercare. A colour boost can be discussed when your brows need refreshing. Some pigment can remain visible for years, so the treatment should be considered a long-term choice.
Are powder brows the same as microblading?
No. Powder and ombré brows use machine shading to create a powdered effect. Microblading uses a manual blade to create hair-like strokes.
Can I have powder brows if my eyebrows are sparse?
Shading can add the appearance of fullness where your brows are sparse or uneven. It colours the skin rather than growing new hair. Your existing brows and the result you would like will be assessed during consultation.
Does the treatment hurt?
Comfort levels vary. You may feel a scratching sensation or sensitivity during treatment. We will discuss what to expect and suitable comfort measures before we begin.
What should I expect while my brows heal?
Your brows can look darker at first, then change in colour and appearance as they settle. Follow the aftercare instructions provided for your treatment, and allow your skin to heal before judging the final result. Your top-up is planned around your healing progress.
Is the initial top-up included in the price?
The first treatment is £220. The initial top-up is priced separately at £70 and is usually booked 4–6 weeks later, subject to healing. At this appointment, we review the result and refine areas where the pigment has settled more lightly.
Can you work over an old eyebrow tattoo?
Please contact me before booking if you have existing permanent makeup or microblading. The remaining pigment, shape and condition of the skin need to be assessed first.
How do I prepare for my appointment?
Book a consultation if you are unsure which treatment to choose. Share details of previous brow work and any relevant health information, and follow the preparation advice given before your appointment. Please ask about patch-test requirements when booking.
