What Is Lip Blushing?

Lip blushing is a cosmetic tattoo treatment that adds pigment to the lips to enhance their colour and definition. Also known as a lip blush tattoo or semi-permanent lip makeup, it creates a tint that gradually fades over time.

The finish can be soft and understated or more noticeable, depending on your preferences and what is achievable for your lips.

How Your Lip Blush Treatment Works

Consultation

We discuss your goals, relevant health information and any previous lip treatments to assess suitability and agree on realistic expectations.

Colour and shape planning

We choose a pigment shade to complement your natural colouring and preferred look. I map your lip outline, discussing the shape and definition with you so we agree on the design before treatment begins.

Lip blush treatment

I carefully apply the chosen pigment within the agreed outline, gradually building colour and definition to enhance your natural lips. Fresh colour may appear stronger immediately after treatment, softening as your lips heal.

Top-up

An initial top-up is usually planned for 4–6 weeks after the first treatment, depending on healing. This is an opportunity to review the settled colour and make any appropriate adjustments.

Lip Blushing: Your Questions Answered

Does lip blushing hurt?

Sensitivity varies from person to person. Some clients find parts of the treatment uncomfortable. Mariia will explain what to expect and discuss comfort measures during your consultation.

How long does lip blush last?

Lip blush gradually fades, but there is no single timeline for everyone. Pigment, skin, lifestyle and aftercare can all affect how the colour wears. A refresh can be discussed when you feel your colour needs attention.

Will my lips look natural?

A subtle result can be the goal of your treatment. The shade and intensity are planned around your natural colouring and preferences. Healed photographs are the most useful guide to the softer finish you may expect.

Do I need a top-up?

A top-up may be needed to refine areas where pigment has healed more lightly or unevenly. Your healed result will be assessed before deciding what adjustments are appropriate.
